What helps you deepen into the present moment?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 10, 2009:
There is no depth to the present moment, I'm either in or I'm out of the moment. What gets me into the present is to be conscious of what is immediate to my senses and deal with that spontaneously. If there's nothing to pique my attention then I must create new surroundings that challenge my being in some way. For me, being in the moment creates a silence between my ears while ‘me' seems to disappear. Moments like that are the supreme manifestation of independence, peace, equanimity, sangfroid, and the whole enchilada.................
