Who do you want to be when you grow up?

Posted on May 13th, 2009 by will : transformer will
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 13, 2009:

Like a child in a sand box, happy, content in being, no fears, uncertainty, doubt or need to conform to a particular sect or group. In short, a prolonged experience of self-reliance.  No shoulda's, woulda's,  coulda's and the all mental combat and unrest generated by the vicissitudes and seemingly endless possibilities that ultimately exist from moment to moment, which will all end ever so shortly. Confucius said back then; " the greatest victory a man can have , is victory over himself". Seems to me that life has become a bit more complex since then, I wonder what his thoughts would be today?

His words are still true today, if you believe them to be true.
Do you believe his words —or do you think they aren't true today?
Life is as complex as you see it and make it.

Those words are absolutey true for me, since it is I who give all meaning to what I experience, to who and what I am. It is the shift from being at the effect of life, to being at the cause of my life and my experiences, that appear to be a little slow at times replacing the post hynotic reponses of victimhood of the past that is greatly supported by the mass of society. So my life is not about being in agreement that life is tough, hard and all the other platitudes and palavering that support the notions of helplessness, which sums up to be what's called common 'sense'. No thank you, I am not common and will not conform to commonality

Do you see yourself as a victim?
Who do you see as “common”?
What do you see as “uncommon” about yourself?
Who is asking you to conform?
What would be the worst thing that would happen if you realized that you WERE common and ordinary —like me, for instance.

I'm not clear about what is driving your thinking, what's got you fired up–or why.  Wishing you the best on your life's path.
namaste,
mimi

Mimi, to answer your questions truthfully, I would have to breach the social agreement of being politically correct by suppressing my truth, which would result in a meaningless reply.
